Chewie, Coco & Manuel Story:
Three Puppies Fighting Parvovirus

A Sudden Change

Chewie had only just arrived in foster care when something changed.

He became quiet, unwell and stopped behaving like the playful puppy he had been just hours earlier.

A Devastating Diagnosis

A veterinary examination confirmed the diagnosis every rescuer fears.

Parvovirus.

Parvo is one of the fastest-moving and most devastating diseases affecting young dogs. Without intensive veterinary treatment, survival is unlikely.

Immediate Action

Chewie was immediately admitted for hospitalisation, medication and around-the-clock care.

The Situation Escalates

Then the situation became even worse.

Within 24 hours, two more puppies, Coco and Manuel, also tested positive.

Suddenly, one emergency became three.

The Cost of Care

The combined veterinary costs quickly climbed beyond $3,650.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, these puppies received the treatment they desperately needed.

Why Emergency Funds Matter

But this case highlights why emergency funds matter.

Viruses don't wait for fundraising campaigns.

Treatment needs to begin immediately.

Supporting Life-Saving Treatment

The Emergency Veterinary Care Bucket allows us to approve life-saving treatment as soon as a diagnosis is made, giving critically ill animals the best possible chance of survival.
